När årets nomineringar till The Game Awards 2025 offentliggjordes stod det snabbt klart att galan får ett nytt rekord.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 toppar listan med hela tolv nomineringar, fler än något spel tidigare lyckats få i prisutdelningens historia. Det tidigare rekordet låg på elva nomineringar och delades av två stora Playstation-titlar: The Last of Us Part II från 2020 och God of War Ragnarök från 2022.
Ett rekord som sticker ut i spelvärlden
Clair Obscurs starka närvaro märks inte bara i antalet kategorier utan också i spridningen av nomineringar. Däremot är den maximala vinspotentialen något lägre än antalet nomineringar antyder, då tre av platserna gäller samma kategori: bästa skådespelarinsats. Här tävlar Ben Starr, Charlie Cox och Jennifer English mot bland andra Troy Baker, som nominerats för sin roll i Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Playstation fortsätter dominera nomineringarna
Medan Clair Obscur skriver historia är det också värt att notera att flera andra Playstation-släpp fortsätter att ta stor plats på årets gala. Death Stranding 2 och Ghost of Yōtei står båda på sju nomineringar, vilket gör dem till två av årets största konkurrenter.
Starka svenska inslag
Sverige är tydligt representerat bland årets aspirerande vinnare. Utvecklarna på Split Fiction får se sitt arbete belönat med fyra nomineringar. Även två andra svenska projekt, Battlefield 6 och Arc Raiders, finns med i urvalet. Kompositören Ludvig Forssell har dessutom chansen att prisas för musiken till Death Stranding 2.
Indiana Jones fortsätter imponera
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, som släpptes under 2024, kvalificerar sig fortfarande inom ramarna för årets prisomgång. Spelet är nominerat i flera kategorier, bland annat bästa action/äventyr, och Troy Baker är en av skådespelarna som gör upp om priset för bästa insats.
