Enligt apputvecklaren Jared Rummler och flertalet andra utvecklare så har Google nu börjat plocka bort adblockers från Playstore.
Anledningen som Google hänvisar till är att eftersom apparna blockerar innehål från tredjepart så bryter apparna mot sektion 4.4 i Playstores distributionsavtal för utvecklare. Här nedanför är den omtalade delen:
4.4 Förbjudna handlingar. Du lovar att inte ägna dig åt någon aktivitet på Android Market, inklusive utveckling och distribution av produkter, som stör, hindrar, skadar eller på ett obehörigt vis får åtkomst till enheter, servrar, nätverk eller annan egendom eller tjänster som tillhör tredje part, inklusive men inte begränsat till Android-användare, Google och andra mobila nätverksoperatörer. Du får inte använda kunduppgifter som du får från Android Market för att sälja eller distribuera produkter utanför Android Market.
Det är inte mycket att tala om här, adblockeres bryter helt klart mot avtalet när de blockerar innehåll från tredjepart däribland Google vilket troligen inte är den bästa att börja bråka med. De flesta adblockers verkar ha försvunnit från Playstore i och med detta och personerna bakom adAway föreslår att användare byter till ett öppet alternativ till Playstore:
AdAway was removed from Google PlayI received an email from Google Play that AdAway was removed due to ”Violation of section 4.4 of the Developer Distribution Agreement.” Thus, it will never be available on Google Play again. Please switch to the open alternative: F-Droid (https://f-droid.org/FDroid.apk) and install AdAway with F-Droid.
Ad Blocker fick också ett meddelande som ser ut såhär:
This is a notification that your application, Ad Blocker ★ Root ★, with package ID com.jrummy.apps.ad.blocker, has been removed from the Google Play Store. REASON FOR REMOVAL: Violation of section 4.4 of the Developer Distribution Agreement.
After a regular review we have determined that your app interferes with or accesses another service or product in an unauthorized manner. This violates the provision of your agreement with Google referred to above.
All violations are tracked. Serious or repeated violations of any nature will result in the termination of your developer account, and investigation and possible termination of related Google accounts. If your account is terminated, payments will cease and Google may recover the proceeds of any past sales and/or the cost of any associated fees (such as chargebacks and transaction fees) from you.
If your developer account is still in good standing, you may revise and upload a new instance of the application that is compliant with the developer terms. Before uploading any new applications, please review the Developer Distribution Agreement and Content Policy.

Vissa appar går tydligen fortfarande att ladda ner via Playstores cache men de borde försvinna mycket snart. Frågan är nu om Google kommer att skärpa flera av sina regler och börja rensa ut andra applikationer också?
